Howard Minor, age 81 of Humboldt, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Humboldt North Care Center in Humboldt. Howard Gerald Minor, the son of Gayhard Hanse and Marie Frances (Carlson) Minor, was born on August 4, 1938 in Kanawha, Iowa. He attended Clarion High School and graduated in 1957. Following graduation, Howard enlisted in the United States Army. Howard was united in marriage to Kathy Jo Winninger on November 25, 1967 at St. Joseph’s Church in Barnum, Iowa. He was employed by St. Mary’s School as their custodian. Howard was a family man. He loved to play cards, go fishing, watch movies, and cheer on the Iowa Hawkeye’s Basketball team and the Cubs Baseball team. Left to cherish Howard’s memory are his wife of 51 years, Kathy of Humboldt; his children, Kay Hamre of Pocahontas and David (Lisa) Minor of Humboldt; five grandchildren; one great grandchild and a brother, Gary Minor of Humboldt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gayhard and Marie Minor and a brother, Marvin Minor in 2014.
