Howard Lee Altman, 66, took the Harley highway to heaven on December 11, 2020. He was born in Rensselaer, Indiana, the youngest son of George Richard Altman, Sr. and Sarah “Kitty” Kathleen (Nelson) Altman.
Howard breezed through Kankakee Valley High School, Class of 1972 with charm and good looks, forming life-long friendships along the way.
Howard proudly served in the United States Navy for a quarter century as a Hospital Corpsman. Upon retiring from the United States Navy, Howard became a Harley-Davidson fanatic. Traveling all over the country sharing his bigger than life personality with everyone he met. The world is a smaller and less fun place without his jokes, smirks, wise-cracks, luck, thoughtfulness, generosity, and loyalty. We are better people for having known him.
Howard is survived by his adorable children: Rebecca Altman and Matthew Altman; his rotten siblings: George Altman Jr., Kenneth Altman, and Evelyn Jenise (Altman) Wilcox; and six sweet nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his loving parents and a niece.
