Howard E. Jackson Howard E. “Hal” Jackson passed away Sunday, at his home in Florence. He was 78. He was born in Philadelphia, and served in the Army National Guard, earning an honorable discharge. He worked for the Evening Bulletin and then the Philadelphia Inquirer, from where he retired. He also worked at ACME and was a member of Local N16 Union. He enjoyed woodworking, teasing his grandchildren, and will be remembered for being a family man. He was a big jokester and always enjoying helping others. He had a fix-it all personality, and was also very artistic.
He served as an Eucharistic Minister at St. Clare’s Church, and also was a member of the church’s Folk Music Group. Howard was preceded in death by his siblings, Granville, Harry, Ambrose, and Mildred. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret “Midge” (Kappes) Jackson; and their children, Robert (Donna), Randy (Kimberly), Kerensa Zube (Eric); grandchildren, Autumn, Lauren, Kayla, and Brennan; and a great-grandson, Ramzyas; and dear friends, Cheryl and Dave Ames.
