Houston L. Wilburn, 84, of Hazel Green, passed away on Thursday. He retired from the Huntsville Fire Department and was a faithful Christian and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Dean Wilburn; His parents, Burl & Beatrice Wilburn; His siblings: Burl “Junior” Wilburn, Edward Wilburn, Jimmy Wilburn, and Billy Ray Wilburn. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law who was a special friend, Wilson Damron.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky and Jane Wilburn and Troy and Brenda Wilburn, three grandchildren, Jonathan Wilburn, Corey Wilburn and Austin Wilburn, two great grandchildren, Payton Wilburn and Jayden Wilburn; His brothers, Jesse “Jip” Wilburn and Earl Wilburn; His sisters, Christine Flynt and Bettie Whaley.
