Mr. Grayson peacefully passed away at a local hospital. He is the husband of Gwendolyn Grayson.

HOUSTON KING GRAYSON, affectionately known as “Terry”, was born June 6, 1937 in Moorhead, Mississippi. He was the youngest of three sons born to Sam and Tempa Grayson.

During his early teens, Terry enlisted into the United States Navy on December 1, 1954. His overseas tours of duty included Japan, the Philippines, China and Vietnam. He served aboard the U.S.S. Buck DD-761, U.S.S. Floyd B. Parks DD-884, U.S.S. Fox DLG-33; U.S.S. Powell DD-686, U.S.S. Topeka CLG-8 and the U.S.S. Henry W. Tucker DD-875.

While in the Navy, Terry made San Diego, California his permanent residence. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and a participant of the American Legions. He enjoyed all sports, particularly football. His favorite team was the Oakland Raiders.

Terry later met Gwen Dennis. They were united in marriage on May 15, 1989.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his two brothers, Henry and Leonard Grayson.

On Saturday, September 21, 2013, Houston King Grayson passed away peacefully at Scripps Mercy Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Gwen Grayson; son, Terrance Lamont Grayson; daughter, Tanya Lynn Grayson; granddaughter, Brittney Grayson; stepson, Brooks Davis; mother-in-law, Emma L. Dennis; sister-in-law, Ginger Walton and her husband, Gregory Walton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including his beloved dog, “Boi Boi Mr. Grayson”.
