Horace V. Hinckley of Salem and formerly of Winthrop passed away at the Aviv Center for Living in Peabody on June 11, 2015. He was 91 years old. Born in Boston, he was the beloved son of the late Mary Ellen (Murphy) and Walter Hinckley. A longtime resident of Winthrop, he served in the U.S Naval Air Force, Squadron VC81, aboard the USS Natoma Bay CVE 62 aircraft carrier, Asiatic Pacific Campaign, 1942 – 1945. After his honorable discharge, he went on to work as a technician for AT&T for over 37 years.
