Hope J. Craft,88, passed away suddenly at the Mountain View Manor in Coal Township on November 19 after a short illness. She left behind a loving family and many friends who thought highly of her. Born on September 27, 1919, to the late Frank and Lydia Witt in Bramwell, West Virginia, she became the fifth of six children born into this family. Two brothers, Bill and Frank Witt, and sisters Frances (Witt) Morgan, Lida (Witt) Richardson, and Dorothy (Witt) Fitzwater completed the family.

She attended Bramwell High School, and graduated in 1937, later working in the retail field for many years and afterwards, serving as a volunteer at the North Arundel Community Hospital in Glen Burnie, Maryland. In 1938, she married James T. Craft, Jr., and together, they raised three children during their 56 years of marriage. She is survived by one son, James I. and Betty J. Craft, and daughters Jane L. and Robert J. Boris, and Carla A. and Dr. Gerald W. Rothacker, Jr. In addition to her children, she is survived by eight grandchildren; grand-daughters Cindella and Donald Lester, Suzanne and Robert Puckett, Hope V. Beard, Stephanie A. and Leo C. Banning, Jr., Shannon L. and Jeffrey J. Taylor, and grandsons Richard and Jennifer Rothacker, Adam and Tabitha Rothacker, and Peter and Laura Rothacker; and fifteen great-grandchildren; Ben and Cameron Goff, Brent and Courtney Puckett, Seth, Rachael and Carlie Beard, Megan E., Jacob G., and Caleb W. Banning, Noah J. Taylor, Jack and Will Rothacker, and Codie and Katie Rothacker. Frank Witt and sister’s Frances (Witt) Morgan and Lida (Witt) Richardson preceded her in death.
