Hope Contorinis of Littleton, Colorado, formerly of 1841 Ella Grasso Blvd., New Haven and Boston, Mass., died Nov. 23, 2011 in Aurora, Colorado after a lengthy illness. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Petrakis Contorinis. Her father was a partner in the former United Restaurant, located at Chapel & High St. in downtown New Haven. A graduate of Russell Sage College, she worked as chief medical technician for open heart surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was known for her contagious laugh, her love of children, antiques and art work, and her extraordinary ability for giving birthday parties for more than one hundred people. She was an avid swimmer and loved going to tea houses. She is survived by her cousin, George Contorinis; her god child, George Frantzis; the members of the Maniatakis and Psarakis families as well as numerous friends.
