Norwich – Honor B. Gagnon, 85 of Fountain St. died Thursday at Greentree Manor in Waterford, CT.
She was born in Norwich on April 20, 1928 daughter of the late Donato and Preziosa (Valvona) Leone. Honor attended Broadway School and is a graduate of Norwich Free Academy and worked at Werman’s Shoe Factory and American Optical. She was a faithful communicant of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. On September 25, 1948 she united in marriage to Wallace S. Gagnon, Sr. at St. Patrick’s Church in Norwich. Mr. Gagnon predeceased his wife of sixty one years on March 26, 2010.
A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all, Honor is survived by her three children: Wallace Gagnon Jr. of Franklin, Paul D. Gagnon (Wife, Cheryl), and Catherine T Fahrenholz (Husband, David) of Norwich, her grandchildren: Joshua, Sarah, Zachary, Ethan, Lauren and Angelica, her sister-in-law Claire Gnatowski and her husband, Henry of Plainfield as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers; Umberto and Daniel Leone, her sisters: Clara Gemino, Mary Lewis, Helen Cascio, Margaret Smith, Rita Burczicki, sisters-in-law: Anna Connell, Eva Norma Galbo, Carole Daley, and daughter in-law Janet Gagnon.
