Homer “Jackson” Boatwright, Jr., age 83, of Newnan, GA, passed away at Brookdale Assisted-Living on Monday, August 21, 2017. Jack was born and raised in Douglas, GA, graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, and attended the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA.
He served for three years as an officer in the U. S. Air Force and retired as Vice-President of Administration, after a thirty-three year career with U. S. Borax, Inc., in Los Angeles, CA. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, CA. As a dad, a granddaddy, a friend, and a spouse, he was kind-hearted, an ultimate example of perseverance, a cheerleader and encourager, a provider, a protector, and had the patience of Job. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn B. Kozar of Newnan, GA; his granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kristin K. and Carter Robinson; his great-grandson, Robert “Micah” Jackson Robinson; and one sister, Elaine Udstuen of Hendersonville, NC.
