Funeral Services for Hollis O. “Shot” Mitchell, age 81, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Monday, December 13, 2021, will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.Visitation will be Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gipson Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.Bro. Cedric Lumpkin and Bro. Ray Spence will officiate the service.A native of Carriere, MS, he was a farmer and a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Shot enjoyed fishing, tending his cows and his farm, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis “Bill” James Mitchell and Cora Louise “Skinny” Bilbo Mitchell; his daughter, Donna Roberts; and his brother, Doug Mitchell.Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Judy Ann Spence Mitchell; his daughter, Pam (Charles) Cross; his sons, James (Nicole) Mitchell, Mark (Patsy) Mitchell, and Wes Roberts; his grandchildren, Andy Cross, Ben (Becca) Cross, Mary Cross, Walker (Renee) Roberts,, Kimberly (Caleb) Hebert, Amy Mitchell, McKayla Roberts, Lexie Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Hollie Mitchell, Luke Mitchell, and Blake Mitchell; his great grandchildren, Charlee Kate Cross, Opal Roberts, Cayleigh Cross on the way; his brothers, Carley (Pat) Mitchell and Donnie (Robin) Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
