Hoke Smith Archer Jr., 81, of Newnan, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Houston, Texas after a hard-fought battle with illness. Hoke was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 14th, 1936 to the late Hoke Sr. and Hattie Archer. He graduated from Southwest High School and studied Architecture at Georgia Tech where he was also a member of the baseball team. His hard work and dedication led him to a become a successful business man in the construction industry. He and family started ARCO Builders in 1979 from which he eventually retired to spend more time with loved ones. Hoke had a passion for golf and enjoyed any day that he could get out on the golf course. He was known for his generosity when it came to his family, friends, church, and community. He was a DEVOTED Christian and a BELOVED family man. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Earline Archer; his children, Danny Archer (wife Leigh), David Archer (wife Valerie), Tara Archer Beckom, Tony Teasley (wife Jan), Jeff Teasley (wife Sandy) and Teresa Teasley Staatsmann; his 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his sisters Jean King (husband Virgil) and Phyllis Norton; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Hoke Sr. and Hattie Archer, his brother Billy Archer and his wife Pat.
