Hobart “Windy” Lewellen, 84, died Sunday, February 19, 2006, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph.
Hobart was born December 21, 1921, in Pontotoc, Mississippi to Chester and Mossie (Berryhill) Lewellen. On December 24, 1947, he married Fannie Meadows in Arlington, Virginia.
Hobart served our country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a fork truck driver at Auto Specialties in St. Joseph, Michigan; retiring in 1977. Hobart enjoyed reading, driving and traveling.
Survivors include his wife Fannie; sons, Larry (Jackie) Lewellen, Three Oaks, Donald (Marie) Sanford Lewellen, Pontotoc, MS; daughters, Betty “Jo Jo” (Paul) Ramsour, Coshocton, Ohio, Sue Kaiser, Auburn, Indiana, and Veda (Ronald) DeFreez, Galien.
Hobart is also survived by a sister, Hazel Gourley, Missouri, 12 grandchildren; Don, Anngie, Mike, Kim, Mitchell, Matthew, Ranae, Kim, Dan, Amber, Haley, Donna, and 19 great-grandchildren.
