Leo Walter Hinricksen, of Salem, son of the late Peter Hinricksen and Frieda Ludiman Hinricksen, was born November 15, 1932 in Crawford County, Iowa. He died March 9, 2014 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, at the age of 81 years 3 months and 22 days.

He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Grill on December 30, 1954 in Denison, Iowa. To this union two children were born. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was owner/operator of the Ozark Motel in Salem for many years. After retiring, he was employed part time by Town & Country Supermarket in Salem. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie of the family home; his daughter, Wendy Sue Hodkin of Windom, Minn.; his son, Charles John Hinricksen of Cocoa, FL.; grandchildren: Thomas, Travis and Tiffany Hodkin; great grandchildren: Austin and Ellison Hodkin and Kroy Failla, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anita Weinsberg, Ida Taylor, Anna Reickert and Esther Groth, and his father and mother.
