Mrs. Phillips quietly passed away at her residence.
Hildred Walker Phillips, the beloved daughter of Henry and Belle Butler, was born on May 26, 1921 in Hugo, OK. She was the eighth of nine children born to this union. The family relocated to Honey Grove, TX when Hildred was a young child. She was educated in the Honey Grove Independent School District.
Hildred moved to San Diego in 1945 and was united in holy matrimony to Odis Walker in 1947. This union was blessed with four children, Donald, Regina, Timothy and Mary. In 1984, Odis was called home to be with the Lord.
Hildred was chef and manager of food operations at the Mexican Village Restaurant in Coronado, CA. She created a signature house salad dressing for this restaurant which was marketed and sold in local grocery stores. In 1980, she continued and successfully completed her education at Lincoln High School and City College. She owned and operated a Board and Care Home for eighteen years. In 1993, Hildred was united in holy matrimony to Claudius Phillips.
Hildred was a wonderful mother. She was actively involved in all of her children’s school activities.
On Thursday, February 21, 2013, God called Hildred Walker Phillips to receive her rewards. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Otis Walker; her second husband, Claudius Phillips; son, Donald; daughter, Mary; her parents, Henry and Belle Butler; four sisters, Edwina, Doretha, Sinola and Catherine; three brothers, CH, Matthew and Will.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her children, Regina Campbell and Timothy Walker; six grandchildren, Lamont Young, Casey Campbell, Timeka Walker, Timothy Walker Jr.
