Hildegarde Pfauth, 81, of Sawyer, Michigan, died Monday, October 23, 2006.Hildegarde was born September 17, 1925 in Sawyer to Henry and Barbara (Shafer) Pfauth. She graduated from New Troy High School in 1943. Hildegarde was employed as a Postal Clerk at the Sawyer Post Office for many years. She was a member of St. Agnes Church in Sawyer and enjoyed reading, baking and gardening.
Hildegarde loved animals, watching the neighborhood children, and spending time with her loving nieces and nephews who knew her as “Deeda”.Survivors include her brother, Henry (Audrey) Pfauth of Dorr, Michigan; sisters, Irene (Zane) Miller of New Troy, Michigan and Barbara (James) Kasper of Sawyer, and many nieces and nephews.Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, October 27, 2006 at St. Agnes Church in Sawyer, Michigan with Father Donald Suberlak, C.R. as Celebrant. Cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Chikaming Township.
