Hilda Smith Velasquez, 81, of Lusby died at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in North Carolina to the late Duncan Monroe and Stella Morton Smith. She had lived in Virginia and Maryland and she and her husband moved to Lusby two years ago.
Mrs. Velasquez is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ray; son John Velasquez of Lusby; daughters Deanna (Percy) Jones of LaPlata; Susan (Rick) McKenzie of Lusby and Sheila (Steve) Magoon of Wakefield, MA; brother Everett Smith of Conetoe, NC; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
