Hilda Bertha Amanda Krehnke was born August 31, 1917 in Rural Hadar, Pierce County, Nebraska to Paul J. and Emma (Neitzke) Boche. She was baptized as a child of God on September 16, 1917 at Pierce and confirmed her faith in her loving Savior on May 15, 1932 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hoskins.

Hilda graduated from Pierce High School in 1938. She received her cosmetology license from the State of Nebraska in 1940 and was a beautician for a number of years, beginning her career at Lotus Beauty Shop in Pierce. In 1943, Hilda moved to Norfolk. Hilda was also employed by General Wholesale (now Affiliated Foods Midwest), Norfolk Maytag Company and Arkfeld Manufacturing Company.

On September 21, 1947, Hilda was united in marriage with Raymond M. Krehnke at Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk, by Rev. Theo. Harms. Hilda continued to work following their marriage until the birth of their daughter, Starla Rae. She then became a stay-at-home mother and housewife providing a loving home for her family.

Hilda enjoyed sewing, cooking/baking, gardening and in later years, being a grandmother and caregiver for grandson Thomas. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Circle, doing volunteer work serving with Lutheran Braille Workers since September 1973, helping with the Echo church newspaper mailing, and with husband Ray delivered Meals on Wheels and helped at the Norfolk Food Pantry. Hilda was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 16, Norfolk.

Survivors include her daughter and husband, Starla and Jerry Landkamer, and grandson Thomas, all of Norfolk; one brother, Harold M. Boche of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray on June 2, 2002, and brother Herbert J. Boche on September 14, 2014.

Hilda B. Krehnke was called by Jesus, to dwell in the house of the Lord forever on May 15, 2015. For all who trust in Jesus there can be no brighter hope to dispel the grief and pain that we feel over Hilda’s departure to be forever with the Lord, than Christ’s own blood-sealed assurance. The day is surely coming when there will be an eternal reunion with Hilda and all the ransomed saints in Heaven. May this be our hope and strength. To God be all glory and power and praise forever and ever. Amen.
