Hilda M. Curtis, 86, a resident of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., since 1950, passed away on Oct. 26, 2012, at her residence.
Hilda was born on May 31, 1926, in Harmony, N.C., the daughter of George and Sarah Harris. She was united in marriage to Myron F. Curtis and he preceded her in death in 2001. During WWII, she manufactured parachutes in Charlotte, N.C., for the war effort. Hilda was later employed by Christo’s Stores #31 in Fort Walton Beach for 18 years in the 1950s and 1960s. She also loved orchids, which she grew for 35 years. She was the owner and operator of Curtis Orchids and Florist.
Hilda is survived by her son, Stephen M. Miller of Fort Walton Beach.
