Hilda Colene (Sevier) Rauscher, RN, age 94, of First Street, Grafton, went with the angels to join the Lord, Thursday, April 18, 2013, in the loving care of Donna Mayle. She was born March 14, 1919, in Tucker County, WV, a daughter of the late George B. Sevier and Minnie Isabelle (Nestor) Sevier. She was united in marriage July 25, 1942 to William Dorsey Rauscher, he preceded her in death January 15, 2003.
Mrs. Rauscher was a graduate of Grafton High School, class of 1937. She was also a graduate of the Cook Hospital Training School of Nursing of Fairmont General Hospital. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years in both the public and private sector, serving most of her years as head nurse at Grafton City Hospital. She was the most dedicated nurse that ever walked the halls of Grafton City Hospital, always wearing her traditional white nursing uniform. She was a former member of the Rebecca Lodge of Grafton, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Grafton.
Surviving are: her daughter Suzanne Chidester, of Bridgeport; one sister-in-law, Betty Sevier, of Grafton; her niece, Brenda Kay Sevier, who cared for her in her home; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: three brothers, Brooks Sevier, William Sevier, and James Sevier; and her son-in-law, Richard Chidester.
