Hilda A. Mitchell, 88, of 2460 West Southern Avenue, South Williamsport, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at her home.
Hilda’s husband, John A. Mitchell, Sr. died May 7, 2011.
Hilda enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing ceramics. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and doing things for others.
Born November 13, 1922 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of John and Edna Rice Stroup.
Surviving are a son, Stephen M. of South Williamsport; daughter, Sandra J. VanHoesen of Tucson, AZ; sisters, Mary Beamer, Jean Myers, Barb Shattow all of Williamsport and Shirley Hayes in Virginia; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Hilda was predeceased by a son, John A. Mitchell, Jr. and a brother Robert Stroup.
