Hilda A. French Hollenbaugh, 86, of Halfway, Md., passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at her home.
Born March 9, 1925, in Breathedsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Edna Mae Showe Shipley.
She retired from The Herald-Mail Co. in Hagerstown in 2009.
She was a member of Virginia Avenue Church of God.
Hilda is survived by her husband of 35 years, Harry P. Hollenbaugh; three daughters, Patricia A. Ebersole of Maugansville, Md., Judy M. Hayes of Williamsport, Md., and Linda L. Bowers of Hagerstown, Md.; a son, Vernon P. French of Emmitsburg, Md.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Misha Lynn Bowers; a sister, Goldie M. Hurley; and three brothers, Albertus Shipley, Harold Shipley and Jay Shipley.
