Herta Helen Luther, 95, of Milford, CT, beloved wife of Reinhold passed away peacefully on October 8, 2022. Born on November 24, 1926 in Vansburg, Poland she was the daughter of the late Helen and Wilhelm Hammler. Herta grew up in Poland and was a young teen during World War II. She fled to Germany on her own as the Russians advanced and made her way to Hamburg, Germany through perilous journeys. In Hamburg she trained and became a registered Nurse. It is there that Herta met Reinhold. The two of them got married in 1949 and decided to start a life together in the United States.
Herta and Reinhold settled in New Britain where they raised their four children.
Herta leaves her loving husband, Reinhold, daughter Edith (Husband Oscar) of Pacifica, CA son Edgar (Wife Teruko) of Wilmington, MA and son Robert (wife Elizabeth) of Chester, CT. Grandchildren are Vicki Bran Tone (husband Bill), Mary Luther (husband Greg), Bob Bran (wife Iris), Rose Luther, Russell Bran (wife Anna) and Michael Luther. Great Grandchildren are Sam Wilson, Hannah Wilson and Myles Tone. Herta is predeceased by her cherished daughter, Judy.
