Mr. Hershel Alonzo Roberson, age 65, of Lanett passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.
Mr. Roberson was born in Chambers County, Alabama on December 21, 1950 to the late Vela Mae Sheets Heflin Roberson and the late Albert Roberson. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Laura Heflin Barfield, Barbara Crowder, Ann Schleusner, Virginia Clark, and Betty Mason.
Mr. Roberson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved music and served as a church pianist for many years. He was also a member of The Ambassadors Quartet for a number of years. He loved to read, liked plants, and loved his pet cats. Hershel attended the Church of the Nazarene for many years with his mother.
Hershel is survived by his brother, Haldor Roberson, Arizona; nephews, Terry Barfield, Ron (Linda) Barfield; great nephew, Michael Barfield; great-niece, Carol (Howard) Teaster; several other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
