Herman Dale Wedeking, 76, of Orleans, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2008, at his home in Orleans.
He was born on June 15, 1931, in Spirit Lake, to Ernest and Lucille (Cafferty) Wedeking. Herman was united in marriage to Margaret Kness on May 28, 1950, in Ocheydan, Iowa.Herman started working at the age of 9, running a dozer and then driving truck at the age of 15. One of his first trips was to Chicago.
In 1958, he started Wedeking Construction Inc. and operated the company until he retired in 1986. After retiring, he bought a Semi and drove for International Transport for 6 years.
Herman enjoyed spending his spare time with his family, fishing, camping, traveling, going to garage sales and had a true love for dogs.
Herman is survived by his wife, Margaret Wedeking of Orleans
