Herman Travis Kennedy of Littleton 5/14/1924 – 2/14/2018 Herman “Red” Travis Kennedy of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 93 years of age. Herm was born May 14, 1924 to Vivian and John Kennedy in Warrior, Alabama. He joined the Air Force at 17 years old and became a pilot, flying in World War II in both the European and Pacific theaters. His bomber was shot down over Hungary in 1944 and he spent almost a year in a POW camp in Germany until freed by the Allied forces. Following the war, Herm continued to fly in the Air National Guard. He retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel and settled in the Denver area after being stationed at Lowry Air Force base. He attended the University of Denver and received a degree in Business. He met Patricia Kennedy and was married on February 16, 1950 at St.
