Herman Leroy Zollinger age 79, passed away at his home on May 15th after a long struggle with bladder cancer just four months after the passing of his dear wife Sharon Dale Zollinger.

He was born August 16th, 1934 to Herman Albert and Lavina Webster Zollinger.  He grew up in Rexburg, Idaho.  He played football and basketball for Madison High School.  He met his future wife, Sharon Dale Parker, in grade school and they were married June 2nd, 1952.  He was a devoted husband.  He spent his early married years helping his father farm a 1200 acre dry farm.  He enrolled at Rick’s College when he was 23 years old.  He later transferred to Utah State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at the age of 28.  He regarded his graduation from college as one of his life’s greatest accomplishments.

When his children were mostly raised, he took up golf in a serious way.  He loved the game. He always had fond memories to share of the friends he used to golf with and the golfing trips he and his wife enjoyed together.  He was a member of the Plantation Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 62 years. A wonderful father throughout his life, he is survived by his four children, Bradley (Susan) of Highland, Utah, Kary (Jean) of Twin Falls, Idaho, Casey (Linda) of Spokane, Washington, Sharon of Boise, Idaho.  He is also survived by his only sibling, a sister, Wanda Percival of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
