Herman F. Koester of Hebron, NE the son of Herman A. and Katherine (Rahmann) Koester was born October 22, 1915 at the family home south west of Deshler, NE. He departed this life Saturday September 24, 2011 at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 95 years 11 months and two days.
Herman was baptized November 28, 1915 and confirmed on June 22, 1930 at Zion Lutheran Church south of Deshler, NE. He attended country district school in rural Deshler, NE through the 8th grade.
He married Neva Neddenriep on February 14, 1941 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson, NE. They made their home and farmed together southwest of Auburn, NE. The family then moved to a farm one mile north of Deshler in 1953. This marriage was blessed with the birth of three children.
Herman was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler serving on the church council for many years. He was also a member of Lutheran Brotherhood and served as a 4-H leader for the Deshler 4-H Club for 15 years.
