Herbert Lee Stottlemyer, 83, Anderson, died June 29, 2009 at Rawlins House, Pendleton. He was born May 9, 1926 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson all of his life. He served his country in the US Army. Herbert retired as a letter carrier with the U.S. Post Office after 30 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Whetstone Christian Church; Madison Masonic Lodge #44 F. & A.M. in Pendleton, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, National Federated Craft, NALC, NARFE, TPA, AARP, was a Kentucky Colonel and a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash under Govenor Robert Orr.

He is survived by his wife, whom he married October 26, 1952, Carolyn Sue Stohler Stottlemyer; sister, Rosemary Dr. George Underwood of Lafayette; sister-in-law, Jeannie Stottlemyer of Huntington; brothers-in-law, Don Ruth Ann Lawyer of Shirley and Robert Stohler of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nieces, Beth Bill Compton of Speedway, Karen Steve Brodt of LaFontaine and Cindy Hughes of Findley, Ohio; nephews, Eric Peggy Lawyer of Shirley & Gary Lisa Lawyer of Shirley; great nieces, Wendy Kevin Terrell of Indianapolis, Lindsey Lawyer of Shirley, Kristen Brodt of LaFontaine, Ashley Hughes of Findley, Ohio, Shannon Lawyer of Anderson, Brooke Compton of Speedway and Brianna Lawyer of Shirley; great nephews, Chad Tiffany Lawyer of Fortville, Josh Miranda Lawyer of Knightstown, Ryan Brodt of LaFontaine, Justin Hughes of Findley, Ohio; Brock Lawyer of Shirley, Seth Lawyer of Shirley and Cory Compton of Speedway; five great great nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Catherine Seybert Stottlemyer; sister, Carolyn Lawyer; brother, Caroll Stottlemyer; and nephews, Kent Lawyer, Gregory Underwood and Michael Underwood.
