Herbert James Lewis, 58, passed away Tuesday Sept. 9, 2014 in Mooresville.
He was a resident of Martinsville. Herbert was born Oct. 17, 1955 in Indianapolis to James M. and Ilse (Reuther) Lewis. He married Patricia Lane on Sept. 7, 1991 in Martinsville; they were married for 23 years.
Herbert was a self-employed truck driver for 30 plus years, driving for Tri-Union Express trucking company of Griffith, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing and working on old cars. He attended regularly Corinth Baptist Church in Plano.
Herbert is survived by his mother, Ilse Lewis of Martinsville, his wife, Patricia Lewis of Martinsville, three children, Crystal (Chris) Evans of Akron, Indiana, Tabatha Lewis and Samuel Lewis both of Martinsville, two sisters, Kathy (John) Garrison of Whiteland and Nancy Jones of Kentucky, brother, Werner Lewis of Martinsville and three grandchildren, Areonna Lewis, Parker Evans and Rebecca Evans.
He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Lewis.
