He was preceded in death by his children, Herbert Steve Griggs, Tammie Griggs Copeland Johnson and Kelly Griggs Plumley; brothers, Gene Griggs, Raymond Griggs and Alden Griggs. Along with his wife he is also survived by his sons and daughters in law, Patrick and Crystal Griggs of Hope Mills, NC, and Tony and Wanda Griggs of Dalton, GA; 8 granddaughters; 4 grandsons; 16 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Rosa Stickler of Dalton, GA, Glenda Davis of Ellijay, GA, Bernice Moser of Ellijay, GA, and Phyllis Lowe of Ellijay, GA; 3 brothers, David Griggs of Ringgold, GA, Bobby Griggs of Ellijay, GA, and Dwight Griggs of Ellijay, GA.
