Herbert James Brooks, 95, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 5, 1926 in Eureka, California to Charles Herbert Brooks and Dorothy Dodson Brooks. Herb served his country in the United States Navy in World War II. He worked as a field line foreman for Pacific Gas and Electric for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He married his soulmate, Ann Brooks September 30, 1972. Herb was a member of Mt.
Herb is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lynda Bassignani, and sister-in-law Cynthia Rakestraw. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Ann Brooks, son Marc Grace (Virginia), daughter Donna Kay Brooks, grandchildren Anthony, Rylie, Madisyn, Annie, and Alex, brothers LeRoy Rakestraw, and Robert Rakestraw (Barbara), special sister-in-law Ali, special brothers-in-law Monte (Carole) and Michael, and nieces Tanya, Tara, and Michele, great nieces Makayla and Moana.
