Herbert “Herb” Alfred Smith 87, Indianapolis, passed away May 14, 2013. He was born February 22, 1926 in Indianapolis to the late James and Mabel Kelso Smith. He married Virginia Gilson who preceded him in death in 1981. Herbert was employed by Ford Motor Co. for more than 30 years, retiring in 1984.
He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Smith of Acton; sister Betty Jean (Bill) Walker of Greenwood; by his loving dog companion Fletcher; and granddogs Tucker and Benji. He was also preceded in death by sisters Helen and Mary; and brothers Edward, Robert, and Charles.
