Herbert James Leach Jr. passed away suddenly on October 13, 2022, after a brief fight with cancer, he was 57 years old.
At the time of his passing Herb was employed at Better Being Company as a swing shift supervisor where he was known for his quick wit, huge heart, and untiring work ethic. Herb had recently completed an MBA-level leadership development course at Better Being Co. and was earnestly trying to apply what he learned to improve how he led his team. He was respected and admired by all those who worked alongside him. He inspired all of us through his actions of empathy. If anyone needed help at work or in his or her personal life, Herb was quick to respond. We will miss his presence greatly, however, his influence will remain with us always. He loved fishing, movies, sports, and his family.
He graduated from Fortuna High School in California in 1983 and during his youth enjoyed playing football, baseball, and wrestling. He was a dairyman for many years and also enjoyed working for Schwan’s Foods in Northern California. He loved cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the San Francisco Giants.
He is survived by his devoted wife Kimberly Leach nèe Stockham, daughter Sarah Wise-Leach, mother Arlene Leach, sister Dalene Phillips (Mark), niece Beth Burbey (Adam), great-niece Felicity Burbey, nephew Michael Phillips, and many other family members, neighbors, coworkers, and friends.
