Mr. Herbert “Herb” Fickey, 81, of Huguley died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Bethany House in Auburn.
Mr. Fickey is survived by his wife of fifty years, Bernice Fickey; one brother Kenneth Fickey of Ringgold, Ga; two sister-in-law’s, Sue Fickey of Lanett, Alabama and Nellie Johnson of Valley, Alabama; children Darlene (Gary) Mayhew of Long Island, New York, Sherrill (Kevin) Gadd, Paul (Linda) Fickey, all of Jacksonville, Florida, Cheryl Miller of Huguley, Alabama, Rick (Rene’) Traylor of Valley, Alabama Cynthia (Tim) Williams of Beauregard, Alabama, and Shelia (Brent) Marlow of Bradenton, Florida; thirteen grandchildren, thirty two great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Born February 15, 1935 in Rockwood, Tenn., Mr. Fickey was the beloved son of the late Mozelle and Herb Fickey. He was an avid sports fan of the University of Tennessee. He was a beloved husband, loving father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Fickey retired as owner/manager of H.R. Fickey Vinyl Siding Company. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Tommy, Jerry, Raymond and Bill Fickey; three sisters, Jane Ann Scott, Mildred Early, Johnnie Barnes, son-in-law Michael Fickey, and granddaughter Shannon Holloway.
