Herald Meador, 86 of Centralia passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012, at 10:40 A.M. at his daughter’s home in Irvington. Mr. Meador was born May 23, 1926, in Helm, son of Lewis and Opal (Carter) Meador. He married Frances (Hill) Meador on August 13, 1949, and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Tony Meador and wife Janet of Haskell, OK; a daughter, Linda Lowery of Irvington; four grandchildren: Gidget Hargrove, Jeremy Meador, Heather Haverstick, and Lance Tate; 10 great-grandchildren a sister, Wilma Hawkins and husband Ronald of Centralia; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Meador worked for the Illinois Power and Light Company for 40 years in the gas department. He was a member of the Calumet Street Christian Church in Centralia. He loved his family and their many get-togethers. He loved to travel, camp, and go antiquing.
