Henson “Prince” Bedeau, 77, of Severn, Maryland, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Henson was born December 29, 1944, to the late Philip and Wilhelmina Bedeau, in Palo Seco Trinidad, West Indies. He migrated to the United States in June of 1969, and was drafted into the U. S. Army in October of 1970, in New York. He married the love of his life, Sun Cha Kim in 1979. Henson has more than 52 years of combined federal service, which includes, 30 years of active Army service as an enlisted Soldier and 22 years of federal civil service as a perishable items specialist for the Defense Commissary Agency. His 22 years of federal civil service was performed at the Fort George G. Meade Commissary, where his strong work ethic was valued by all his colleagues as well as the management staff.  Above all these things, he was most proud of his 30 years of military service, accumulating at the highest enlisted rank, Command Sergeant Major.  His occupation specialty was aviation, which was enhanced by training such as the Aviation Life Support Equipment Course and the U. S. Navy Aircraft Corrosion Control Course. His civilian education includes; an Associated Degree at Central Texas College, in Applied Science, automotive technology and a Bachelor’s Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida in Professional Aeronautics concentrated in Aviation Maintenance Management. He also had an Airframe and Powerplant License from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Henson moved to Severn, Maryland in 1989, and became a pillar of the community. He loved working on automobiles and would help any and everybody to get their vehicle up and running again. He shared his love for good food and was culturally crazy about his native country, waking up early every morning to read the Trinidad and Tobago News on the internet.

Henson is survived by his wife, Sun Cha of Severn, MD; daughter, Ellisa (Tom) Hauf, Glen Burnie, MD; brother, Lawrence (Judy) Bedeau, Dale City, VA; sister, Molly (Justin) Paul, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred and Solomon (Snake) Bedeau; and sisters, Juliet and Sylvia Bedeau.
