Henry W. Lewis, 99, of Williamsport, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Rose View Center, Williamsport.

Born July 21, 1918, in Allport, Pennsylvania, a son of the late William and Louise (Katsusky) Bukowski.  Henry was preceded in death by his wife Luna A. ‘Midge’ (Wight) Lewis on Jan. 23, 2016 after 66 years of marriage.

Henry attended school at Flat Rock Children’s Home, Flat Rock, Ohio and was a 1938 graduate of Thompson High School, Thompson Ohio. After graduation Henry entered the U.S. Army in 1941, where he served in WWII, through the second wave of Normandy until he was wounded in action and received an honorable discharge in 1945.

Henry played minor league baseball for the Toledo Mud Hens. He was an avid hunter of deer and pheasant and also enjoyed fishing. Later in life he and his wife enjoyed traveling in their camper, and watching their nephews car races in Florida.  He attended St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church.  

Surviving are two daughters, Linda (Wayne) Dunham, of Hampstead, MD and Sharon (Michael) Kuriga, of Williamsport; four grandchildren, Paul (Shawny) Schlogel, Shannon (Debbie) Schlogel, Melissa Lyon and Christopher (Erin) Kuriga; eight great-grandchildren, Hailey, Lauryn, Paul III, Mariah, Xavier, Ethan, Brendan and Adam; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Henry was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
