Henry Van Kooten, 97, of Holiday City Carefree section of Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016. Born in Naarden, Holland, he lived in Hawthorne, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. in 1991. Henry was a United States Army WWII veteran.
He was a Construction Superintendent for Community Developers in Paramus for many years, retiring in 1990. Henry was also a member of the Carpenter’s Union and was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp.
He was predeceased by his son Henry M. Van Kooten and his daughter Mary T. “Cookie” Van Kooten. Henry is survived by his wife of 69 years Marion (nee Greenwald), two sons Michael Van Kooten of Toms River and Mark Van Kooten of Sewickley, PA, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
