Henry V. Miller, 93

Troy – Henry V. Miller, 93, of Gurley Avenue died Monday, January 5, 2009 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Poestenkill, he was son of the late John H. Miller Sr. and Lottie (Reddish) Miller and husband of the late Martha L.(Donahue) Miller who died on December 6th.

He was born in Poestenkill, resided in Brunswick and Lansingburgh most of his life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

He was a farmer for many years in Brunswick. Henry, for 22 years, loved being a bus driver for the Fifth Avenue Bus Line and Yankee Trails, retiring in 1991.

He was Master of the West Sand Lake Grange for 8 years and Pomona Master for 6 years, a member of the Brunswick Lodge of Elks, Vice Chairman of the Rensselaer Water Vice Chairman of the Rensselaer Water and Soil Conservation, a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church (now Hope United Methodist) and Superintendent of the Sunday school, a Trustee and a member of the Staff Parish Committee. He enjoyed gardening, driving and reading.

Survivors include his four beloved daughters, Carolyn (Alfred) Chenot of Loudonville, Nancy (Joseph) Couch of Cohoes, Judith (James) Koblenzer of Troy and Jean (Kenneth) Purcell of Troy; his grandchildren, April VonBorstel of Maryland, Joann (Paul) Lionarons of West Sand Lake, Darren (Kate) Purcell of Ballston Spa, Debra Walker of NYC, Sharon (John) Korzelius of Oakfield, NY, Eric (Jude) Koblenzer of Troy, Keith Purcell of Lansingburgh and Marcy (Matt) Fiet of East Greenbush, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including, Priscilla Pare, Carol Kolowski, Stewart Clements, Jr, William Clements, Jill Wolcott, Jack and Wayne Clements, Beryl White and Mark and Paul Clements. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Clements; a brother, John H. Miller Jr and a nephew, Douglas Clements.
