Henry Reid Voigtlander, 83, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of Salem, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
He was born in Winfield, Kansas on May 26, 1936, son of the late William James and Marie May (McClaskey) Voigtlander. Henry spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, friend and veteran of the United States Army. He was united in marriage to the late Mary Trett in Shreveport, Louisiana and they were married for 48 years. During his working years, Henry worked as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He spent a brief time as a farmer and used his outstanding mechanic skills to fix his own equipment. Henry enjoyed raising fish in his pond at his home and feeding them from his four-wheeler. He loved guns and had a wonderful gun collection. Henry loved visiting with people and sharing stories of his childhood and his truck driving days.
Henry is survived by his children, Loretta Voigtlander of Texas, Dale Voigtlander of Texas, LaDonna Hanson and husband Conrad of Overland Park, Kansas, Darryl Emery and wife Janett of California and Rick Emery of Salem, Arkansas; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren ; one great-great grandchild and brother, Howard Voigtlander of Granola, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Voigtlander; daughter, Carolyn Sue Voigtlander; son, Harold Emery; parents, William and Marie Voigtlander and one great grandchild.
