Dublin- Henry C. “Speed” Proffitt, 78, of Dublin, Indiana, passed away on February 1, 2009 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. The son of W.H. and Martha E. (Hardigree) Proffitt, he was born December 28, 1930 in Crab Orchard in Lincoln County Kentucky. On December 30, 1949 in Liberty, IN he married Ruth Anna Bunger whom precedes him in death.
Speed moved to Dublin in 1949 and lived and served his community for over 60 years. He owned and operated Speed’s Plumbing, Heating and Air, and was a licensed Electrician. He retired from NATCO in Richmond. Speed was an Honorary Member of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169, where he called bingo for the past 35 years.
