Norwich- Henry P. Hopkins, 85, of Lauren Ln., beloved husband of Lorraine E. (Turmel) Hopkins, died Sunday morning May 22, 2016, at Wm. W. Backus Hospital. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Patrick and Margaret ( McGawley)Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Coast Guard. On September 29, 1956 in Pawtucket, RI he was united in marriage to the former Lorraine E. Turmel.
Henry was last employed as a salesman for Monarch Foods. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, and working in his yard. He was a member of the VFW in Jewett City, Kiwanis Club, and Past President of the March of Dimes.
Surviving is his wife; two daughters Laurie Loiselle and Susan Arsenault both of Norwich; a brother Joseph Hopkins and his wife Maureen of Providence, RI; three grandchildren Jessica, Christopher, and Michael, a great granddaughter Ariel, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Marjorie Mancini.
