Henry L. Hawkins, age 77, of Centralia passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Henry was born in Portageville, Missouri on December 11, 1938, a son to William “Bill” and Dorothy (Butler) Hawkins. He married Dessie Smith and they later divorced.
Henry is survived by two daughters, Drewsella “Drew” Jordan and special friend Stephen Sprague of Centralia, and Judy Cross of Summersville, Missouri; two sons, Raymond Hawkins and wife Ruth Ann of Summersville, Missouri, and James Hawkins and wife Vicki of Licking, Missouri; three brothers, Clarence Hawkins of Dix, Illinois, William Hawkins, of Washington, D.C., and Johnny Hawkins, of Lakeland, Florida; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Christopher Hawkins, and one sister Drewsella Comer. Henry had a strong Christian Faith and was a devoted family man. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and doing mechanical work. He was a retired pipefitter and boilermak.
