Henry Joseph Wicko, 75, of Naugatuck, Connecticut died in comfort and peace Saturday evening, January 1, 2011. He was born at home in Bridgeport, Connecticut on January 22, 1935. His parents were Mary Kulak Wicko and Joseph Wicko. He resided in and around Bridgeport until his mid-forties, where he then moved to Woodbury with his family for 25 years, and spent his later years in Naugatuck.
Henry graduated from Harding High School in 1952, was a senior member officer, football player, and boy’s student league club member. He went on to receive his Associates in Engineering degree from the Bridgeport Engineering Institute in 1963, was drafted into the Army during the Korean War, served his country, and was honorably discharged. He was a long time sales manager at Bridgeport Brass Company and later continued to work in sales for Waltec.
