Henry J. Rannin, Jr. age 81 of Aurora passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora surrounded by family.
He was born August 1, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Henry and Stella (Goyette) Rannin.
Mr. Rannin proudly served his country in the army. He worked for many years in the construction business as a roofer and was a longtime member and former secretary of the Roofers’ Union. Henry had a love of learning, enjoyed reading and earned his college degree later in life; he also liked to play tennis and was an avid runner.
He is survived by his children Karyn (Jack) Cronan of Campton Hills, Bruce (Kumi) Rannin of Grayslake, Cathi (Steve) Burgener of Arizona, Diane Austin of Hampshire, Nadine (Craig) Loy of Montgomery, and Mark (fiancAC. Sarah Bosco) Rannin of Gurnee; 12 grandchildren; and sisters Pat (Jack) Baker of Streamwood, Dolores (Ron) Gruen of Palatine and sister Diane Rannin of Wheeling;.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law David Austin, and his loving wife Alice (Huls) Rannin who passed away 1996.
