On Monday, June 10, 2019, Henry Joseph Meyers, Jr. was granted his final wish – to go home.  His family and friends, while grieved by his passing, celebrate that he is home with Jesus.

Henry believed that it is only in the details of how one lives and how one dies that distinguishes one man from another.  Those who know him best can testify that his life was a shining example of this – he lived life to its fullest – not with words, but actions, showering his family and friends with abundant love and giving generously to all.

For more than seven decades, Henry, enjoyed his family, his work, trucks, friends, hunting, boats, and chocolate. Not necessarily in that order.  He was a master craftsman who built his beautiful family home from the ground up, one of the best electrical linemen in the business, an accomplished outdoorsman, and a superhero for his wife, son, daughter and grandson. During his sunset years, his happiest days were spent with grandson, Noah (the apple of his eye).

He is survived by his wife, Marian Meyers of 55 years, his son, Eric Meyers, his daughter, Michele Vander Vlis, grandson, Noah Vander Vlis, and sister, Delores Bogert.

His family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all for their support, with a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of the Chesapeake for their loving care during his final days.
