Albert Henry Harris, 94, of Jacksonville, IL died Thursday, November 19, 2015, at his residence.

He was born on June 17, 1921 in Jacksonville, the son of Albert Roy and Sara Alice McArthur Harris.

He is survived by a son, Eric Dane Stratton of Winchester; nine nieces and nephews, Irma Jean Kleckley of Milwaukee, WI, Kenneth Watts of Norfolk, VA, Doris Black of Syracuse, NY, Lola Kay Oberon of New Lebanon, NY, William Watts of Mt. Sterling, Janet Wilson of Jacksonville, Reuben Watts of Springfield, Phillip Harris of Jacksonville, and Eugenia Watson of Tucson, AZ; numerous great nieces and nephews; and numerous great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Henry was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and served with the US Army from 1942 to 1946 during WW II. He worked in the housekeeping department of the Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville for many years. Henry was a member of the former St. John’s Lodge #8 F & AM as well as American Legion Post #279, Amvets Post #100, and VFW Post #1379.
