SALEM – Henry “Hank” Poage, age 79, died at 5:25 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at Cleveland VA Medical Hospital. He was born September 1, 1939 in Marlinton, West Virginia, the son of the late Henry and Margaret (Weatherholt) Poage.
Henry was co-owner of the 2nd Chance Store with his wife, previously worked at Eljers and many years ago at Brown-Zieglers Ohio Gas Station. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Hell On Wheels Division during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma (Smith) Poage, whom he married December 31, 1964; two sons, Larry (Patty) Poage of Beloit and Gary Poage of Fort Myers, FL; brother, Ronald (Brenda) Poage; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey Ross and Robert Densmore; an infant sister and a grandson, Alex Poage.
