He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard.

He was a man who had so much love in his heart that he shared it with everyone.
Hank is predeceased by his parents Herman and Bertha Wapelhorst and his brothers Joseph and Robert Wapelhorst. Surviving are his wife Mary Ann Wapelhorst of Berkeley Twsp., NJ; his children James Wapelhorst and his wife Camila of Germany, Thomas Wapelhorst and his wife Patricia of Jackson, NJ, Joseph Wapelhorst and his wife Eileen Rose of Jackson, NJ, William Wapelhorst and his wife Valerie of Palm Coast, FL, David Wapelhorst and his wife Robin of Williamsburg, VA, Joanne Hurley and her husband Eric of Barnegat, NJ and Robert Sliczynski of Neptune, NJ; his brother Herman W. Wapelhorst and his wife Dolly of Myrtle Beach, SC; many loving nieces and nephews and his seven grandchildren.
